Strahl Lake Aurora Landscape
Photographing the Northern Lights is towards the top of every astrophotographer's bucket list. I always expected I'd have to take a trip to Alaska or Iceland to cross this one off, never thought I'd be able to capture a moment like this in southern Indiana. This photo was taken at Brown County State Park during the October 10th geomagnetic storm, which brought a few hours of magic to the skies of most of the country even reaching as far south as Puerto Rico and Mexico. I was so glad to have captured this shot near the peak of activity with my camera, but being able to see the sky light up with my own eyes for the first time was a truly incredible experience.
